Glorya Kaufman’s Original Artwork

Art was something that had followed Glorya her whole life. Painting had become an enduring passion of hers; she credited an inspiring painting teacher, Dino Snider, with instilling in her the fundamental skills and an early appreciation of her innate talents. Her work was instinctive, natural, and unpretentious.

Fireworks from the 1984 Olympics inspired an exuberant burst of pastel colors that still greet Glorya every morning.

She created a subsequent series on the same theme that she gifted to every member of the first graduating class of the Glorya Kaufman School for Dance.

More of her paintings are displayed throughout the Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, and in the homes of countless friends and family.

Pyramids in the Electronic Age

Over the years, Glorya had experimented with a number of styles and subjects, from the striking, geometric Pyramids in the Electronic Age to exquisite still lifes and impressionist floral compositions. She was a connoisseur of colors, which were always important features of her pieces.
